Siwelele FC head coach Lehlohonolo Seema highly praised midfielder Grant Margeman after producing a stellar performance against Stellenbosch FC.
After spending the whole of last season at SuperSport United on the sidelines due to an injury, Margeman has made his return to the pitch and has since raised his performances.
The former Cape Town Spurs midfielder had a sniff of the Bafana Bafana jersey back in March 2024 and he is fighting his way back as the AFCON and FIFA World Cup approach.
Seema highly praised the midfielder and spoke out about his importance into the Siwelele team.
“We knew that we have to be patient with him when I arrived. The whole season he hadn’t played,” Seema told the media.
“We had to work first on his fitness, strength and the weight, and we came right with him and the good thing what made it easier is that he was hungry to play and he was still hungry to play.
“He looked happier to stay, still at Siwelele, because that was another challenge with other players that ahhhhh! Siwelele. But him you could see [he wanted to stay], that is when we gave him support.
“And we know he’s a special player and I even joked with him that this kind of performance ‘you are trying to push to go and play the AFCON or even the World Cup because you know, the Bafana coach if you are doing well, he has proven himself that he can give you a chance’.
“So we are happy. He’s one important member of the team, one of the seniors, and one of the guys that when he’s on song, we know that the team will do well.”
