Sekhukhune United and Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed their starting line-ups for this evening’s DStv Premiership opening fixture at Peter Mokaba Stadium.
Masandawana start their quest to defend the league title away from home, with Rulani Mokwena still unbeaten since taken over the reigns as sole head coach.
Out of 19 games, he has won 13 and drawn six, scoring 31 goals and only conceding eight. The Tshwane giants have dominated this fixture, as they’ve never lost to Sekhukhune United in history.
After finishing the season in tears after losing the Nedbank Cup final to Orlando Pirates, Babina Noko aim to start the 2023/24 season on high but it will be a massive mountain to climb, as they face defending DStv Premiership champions.
Both sides made some interesting signings in the current transfer window, which makes this fixture even more exciting.
Last season Babina Noko managed to get only a point against Downs, with both teams drawing 1-1 at Sekhukhune and Downs winning their home game 2-0.
Here is how they line up:
Sekhukhune United XI: Sangare, Mobbie, Ntyia-Ntiya, Cardoso, Gyimah, Mokotjo, Mokwana, Webber, Ohizu, Bwalya, Mncube
Subs: Leaner, Mkhabela, Tshibwabwa, Mahlangu, Vilakazi, Maloisane, Mosadi, Thutlwa
