September Reveals Chippa Mandate & Explains Mahlatsi Signing

Chippa United co-coach Thabo September and Kwanele Kopo have a mandate to save the club from relegation, he also explained the role of new signing Kamohelo Mahlatsi and what he brings into the club.

Before the DStv Premiership resumed, Chili Boys did some reshuffling on their technical team by moving Morgan Mammila who was the head coach to a technical director role and appointed former SuperSport United DStv Diski Challenge head September and former Pretoria Callies head coach Kopo.

The duo has taken charge of three matches, drawing two DStv Premiership clashes against Cape Town City and Stellenbosch both by 1-1. They booked a place in the Nedbank Cup last 16 after beating NC Professionals by 2-1.

September revealed that the mandate was to save the club from relegation and keep the DStv Premiership status.

“Don’t relegate the club, keep the status,” September told iDiskiTimes

United confirmed the signing of Mahlatsi a few hours before kickoff at Danie Craven.

September explained why they signed the former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder.

“Creativity, I think we’ve got good strikers, Ronaldo [Maarman], Eva [Nga], in terms of creativity we need players that feed through, Kamo is one of those, Memela, Luthuli, Mbenyane so the ones that I’ve mentioned are coming towards their golden days and Kamo has got fresh legs,” September added.

“He gives us a bit of balance because we don’t have the really left winger, left-footed player on the left side. He is giving us that and he can play as a 10 as well. So that’s why we brought him here.”
