Sesane – What Riveiro Told Nkota Before Breakout Game

Orlando Pirates defender Thabiso Sesane has revealed that coach Jose Riveiro told teenager Mohau Nkota that he has to be strong as he was no longer playing in the DStv Diski Challenge.

Nkota, 18, a product of the side’s development structures had an incredible debut with the first team scoring a brace against AmaZulu in the league in Orlando last month.

Nkota’s teammate, Sesane, spoke to iDiski Times senior writer Velile Mnyandu in edition 179 where he spoke about Riveiro treating players equally regardless of their age.

Sesane says the coach told Nkota to be strong as he was in a different league, adding that he also advised Nkota not to take the coach’s words negatively.

“What I can say is that there are no youngsters when it comes to the coach,” Sesane told iDiski Times.

“He treats us all equally, especially in that Tuesday game. I heard him say something and I said he has never said this to me. He told Nkota in the change- room that ‘Remember, Nkota, this is not the MDC you have to be strong my boy!’ He said you are in a different level now and you need to prove yourself.

“So, I went to him before the game, and I told him to not take what the coach said in a negative way. I also told him to not be scared to lose the ball, that if he lost it, we’ll mark it for him and give it back to him.”
