Spurs Suffer Baartman Blow

Cape Town Spurs teenage sensation Luke ‘Boere’ Baartman is out for four weeks after sustaining an injury.

Boere is the second-highest Spurs goal scorer this season after Ashley Cupido. The 17-year-old scored two goals in his debut campaign, netting against Kaizer Chiefs and AmaZulu FC.

He also scored eight goals in the DDC this season and he is Spurs’ top goalscorer in that competition.

Baartman was a noticeable absentee in the DStv Diski Challenge fixture between Spurs and Chiefs at Idas Valley last weekend, and close sources have now confirmed to this publication that he will be out for four weeks due to a knee injury.

The young talent is also doing his Matric this year and it remains unclear whether Spurs will let him focus on his studies and how this will affect his availability for the senior side.
