Stellenbosch FC defender Ismaël Olivier Touré has completed a move to the United Arab Emirates side Baniyas Club.
Information received by iDiski Times confirms that Stellenbosch have reached an agreement with the UAE Pro League side, with Toure penning a long-term contract.
Steve Barker’s side have always been ahead of time, as it has been reported in Dutch media of their interest in signing FC Utrecht centre-back Wessel Kooy but Utrecht aren’t willing to sell the 20-year-old old centre-back.
Stellies pushed to sign FC Emmen defender Dennis Vos, 23, but his package was out of reach – even though the club was open to the potential sale.
Stellies are currently working on replacing Toure – who has played a massive role in their team in the past seasons helping the club to win the Carling Knockout Cup – and qualifying for CAF Confederation Cup for two consecutive seasons.
The 27-year-old has already arrived in the Middle East, marking the end of his time in the Cape Winelands, after joining from Marumo Gallants in 2023.
