Cape Town City and Stellenbosch FC will host German third-division side SV Wehen Wiesbaden as part of their pre-season plans ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.
Wiesbaden were relegated from the German Bundesliga 2 this past season after finishing in 16th place. They went to the playoffs but still failed to retain their status after going down 4-3 to Regensburg on aggregate, which all but condemned them to Bundesliga 3 football for next season.
Die Rot-Schwarzen (The Black and Reds) are expected to arrive in South Africa this Saturday, June 29, for a 10-day pre-season camp. They will first take on the Citizens at DHL Stadium on Thursday, July 4, before making the short trip to Stellenbosch to take on the Maroon Army at Coetzenburg Stadium three days later.
Wiesbaden is the second German team that will be in South Africa for pre-season. FC Augsburg, who are in top-flight football alongside the likes of Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich, will face TS Galaxy before the end of July.
