Sundowns Ready For Chippa Test

Mamelodi Sundowns captain Themba Zwane says that this weekend’s clash against Chippa United won’t be easy but they are ready for it.

Downs got extra rest time after their midweek match against TS Galaxy was postponed, but Chippa were in action and beat Richards Bay by 3-0 at home.

The Chilli Boyz are yet to lose a game since the season resumed, having also picked up two draws, against Cape Town City and Stellenbosch FC.

Kwanele Kopo and Thabo September’s team are currently tenth, 19 points behind Rulani Mokwena’s log leaders.

Zwane knows that Chippa United will come with their confidence high after their impressive midweek win. The 34-year-old also mentioned that Chippa always put up a fight against them.

“To be honest it’s not an easy game whenever we’re playing Chippa United, they have that energy they put and yesterday they won with good results and we know that they will come at us with a full force,” Zwane told Sundowns media.

“But for us we’re ready for them, we saw their game when they were playing, obviously from tomorrow we will analyse them and try to plan for them and try to win the game.”
