Mamelodi Sundowns have key notable absentees in their starting line-up when they host SuperSport United in their Betway Premiership title defence opener tonight at Loftus Versfeld Stadium.
Influential duo Teboho Mokoena and Khuliso Mudau have simply not made the cut for the Tshwane Derby after also been omitted in the last continental showpiece fixture this past weekend.
The hosts finally returned to winning ways with a morale-boosting 4-0 thumping of Eswatini side Mbabane Swallows in the CAF Champions League second preliminary round first-leg match after a two-match winless run having registered back-to-back 1-0 defeats to Stellenbosch FC in the MTN8 semi-finals.
Matsatsantsa on the other hand have been inactive since Orlando Pirates booted them out of the MTN8 quarterfinals last month.
Sundowns’ injury list will see them without Mothobi Mvala, Divine Lunga and Kegan Johannes come into this tie, while the visitors have head coach Gavin Hunt suspended, with long-term absentees Bradley Grobler and Grant Margeman yet to recover from their respective injuries.
Here is how both teams line up:
Sundowns starting XI:
Williams, Lebusa, Coetzee, Kekana, Morena, Tiwani, Maboe, Allende, Ribeiro, Rayners, Shalulile
Subs: Onyango, Khoza, Aubaas, Modiba, Mkhulise, Zwane, Mabena, Matthews, Lorch
