Moroka Swallows head coach Steve Komphela has not been included on the team sheet for their DStv Premiership return against Polokwane City.
The Dube Birds are still dealing with the results of the fallout between their players and management from before the turn of the year, when they couldn’t honour their fixtures against Mamelodi Sundowns and Golden Arrows.
The Premier Soccer League DC ruled those games against Swallows, while the club was also fined R1 million, with R600,000 suspended.
Swallows were also believed to have dismissed 22 of their players, but many have since re-signed with the club and the club managed to name a competitive starting XI against Rise and Shine.
However, Komphela was a notable absentee from the line-up, with Musa Nyatama and Ditheko Mototo named as assistant coaches. Swallows are yet to make an official statement on their head coach.
While the club also didn’t announce any new signings, several new players appeared on the team sheet, including Mashweu Mphahlele, Ntsikelelo Nyauza, Jacob Everson and Letsie Koapeng, who all start, while Augustine Mahlonoko made the bench.
