Cape Town City have a long trip to Gqeberha this weekend where they enjoy to go as they collected more to when they face Chippa United.
City’s head coach Eric Tinkler mentioned that Morgan Mammila’s side is not an easy side to play against despite their winless run in the last five matches.
“Not gonna be an easy game, I think they play quite well especially in the second half against Mamelodi Sundowns,” Tinkler told Cape Town City media.
“Obviously we can’t drop our level, we gonna have to keep our level exactly where it was, the way we played against Orlando Pirates especially in the second half if we want to got there and compete against them, we have to got there with a lot of aggression, a lot of self-belief and a lot of positivity.
“Obviously tough stage of the season, we go to the second round and obviously we need to try and climb that league table and remain in the top eight, that has been our objective and that is our purpose.
“Training this week has been pretty good, one or two niggles that we picked up from the game against Pirates. Keano Cupido is not available, unfortunately. Gordinho is available, we obviously have choices available to us for this game against Chippa.”
The Citizens are coming to this game with their tails up, following their 2-1 win against Orlando Pirates. Tinker’s side came from a goal down to claim all three points and kept the record of not losing to the sea robbers in Cape Town.
