Tinkler On Mojela Finding His Scoring Boots At Sekhukhune

Sekhukhune United coach Eric Tinkler is pleased to see Lehlohonolo Mojela scoring again and would like to see more goals from the forward.

Mojela, 29, joined Babina Noko in January from Stellenbosch and has so far scored three goals for the Limpopo side in all competitions, two coming in the league, a brace against Orbit College. The victory in Polokwane on Sunday saw Sekhukhune rise to third position on the Betway Premiership log with 30 points in 18 outings.

Tinkler said he is not surprised to see the striker getting on the score sheet because the team has been supporting him. However, the coach wants to see the player score consistently and raise the level of competitiveness with other strikers in the team.

“Yeah, he could have got three today,” said Tinkler.

“You know, I spoke to him about the importance of playing with positivity and energy. He didn’t get a lot of game time. Yes, he was out for a long time with an injury at Stellenbosch, but he didn’t really get game time while he was there.

“So, you know, we’ve just been supporting him and backing him and giving him as many minutes as possible. We played a friendly midweek just to give him even more game minutes. And he responded well and because of the energy and the positivity he showed, he got goals. Now he needs to do that consistently.

“You want that level of competitiveness between the players. So, I’m happy for him. I think he deserves it because of the effort that he’s put in, but I had to bit of a kick up the bum to wake him up.”
