Cape Town City coach Eric Tinkler is targeting maximum points against Mamelodi Sundowns, saying he won’t be changing his approach.
City missed an opportunity to break into the top eight after a goalless draw against newcomers Magesi FC and now have Sundowns lined up before traveling to Durban to face Richards Bay in the Carling Knockout Cup quarterfinals.

Tinkler bemoaned not being able to collect maximum points against Magesi and has now boldly said there’s no other way but to go for maximum points against Sundowns.
“Why would I have a different approach? Tinkler told iDiski Times.
“Remember what I said last week, Magesi and the other games we should be winning if you want to be competing at the highest level but irrespective, you go to the Sundowns game with the exact same game plan which is to win.
“I don’t change my mentality in terms of wow it’s Sundowns we gonna change our approach, we gonna sit in the low block. No, we play the way we play irrespective of our opposition.

“So, my approach is exactly the same, it’s just now obviously losing two points at home makes collecting points against Sundowns more important.”
City was the only side to beat Sundowns in the league last season to deny them the invincible tag on the last day of the season after Jaeden Rhodes scored from high pressing Downs defence.
The two sides will face off in a highly anticipated Betway Premiership clash at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Wednesday evening for a 19:30 kick off.
