Vilakazi Confirms New Player To Arrive At AmaZulu

AmaZulu FC co-coach Vusumuzi Vilakazi has confirmed that a Zimbabwean striker is set to undergo trials as they search to reinforce their attacking prowess.

“Kanu” and his co-coach Arthur Zwane have not been secretive in their desire to add more firepower upfront with Sede Junior Dion going through a rough patch and Etiosa Ighodaro also struggling.

Midfielder Pule Ekstein has been doing wonders for Usuthu having scored four goals this season with a single assist and is currently the club’s top goalscorer.

Vilakazi confirmed that an unnnamed Zimbabwean striker was set to arrive at the KwaZulu-Natal-based outfit, and they hope he impresses them. Some reports have suggested that striker could be Lynoth Chikuhwa, who has been trialling in the country.

“We are still looking for a striker to add. Obviously, we are now relying on Igho. We suffered last game because we were not allowed to use him,” Vilakazi said.

“So, at least if we can have another striker, obviously we signed Mthethwa and Zungu.

“So, in other departments, I think we are still sorted for now, but if we can get the striker, so that’s what we are looking for, we might get a striker from Zimbabwe.
