Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has revealed that three of his players will miss their final DStv Premiership match against Cape Town City.
Amakhosi and City are facing each other in a direct battle for fourth place, with the visitors two points behind Zwane’s men – a win would see City overtake Chiefs on the log, which would result in a home quarter-final in the MTN8 next season.
However, Zwane once again has to reshuffle his starting XI, confirming that three players picked up injuries or have fallen ill, leaving him with just 19 fit players.
“We’ve done our final preparations at FNB Stadium with those who are ready and fit to play,” he told the club’s media team.
“We lost three players to injury and sickness. It’s been part of our lives and the story of our season, but we can’t complain.
“We have about 19 players available for selection – not even 20 – but it’s okay.”
Zwane, though insisted he wants his team to get back to winning ways after they lost three matches in a row and four out of their last five games in all competitions.
“We need to finish the season with a win and start building for next season. We will have to find a way and make sure we grind a result,” he added.
“We are playing at home and we have to win the game. Coming from three games and not winning, obviously it’s going to be a tough one.
“Mentally it’s a case of expecting players to rise to the occasion and expecting them to win this game playing at home, since it’s the last game of the season.”
