Zwane Names 3 Chiefs Youngsters Who Could Start

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Arthur Zwane has confirmed that youngsters Mduduzi Shabalala, Wandile Duba and Samkelo Zwane are all in contention to start against Golden Arrows.

The Amakhosi will play their final game of 2022 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium this afternoon and could potentially climb into third place on the log with a win.

Zwane hasn’t given much away of which players are not available for the tie but confirmed he has “a few challenges” before stating that he added the three youngsters to his traveling squad for today’s game.

“Today’s session was matchday minus one and we first had to see who is and isn’t available and assess the sharpness of the players, as we haven’t played competitive football for some time now,” he told the club’s media department.

“The players look fresh and okay and we hope that we can take what we saw today in training onto the field tomorrow.

“We have got a few challenges here and there but, for me, there are no challenges because we are coaches and we have players, and we have the belief that they have got the ability to play for a team of Kaizer Chiefs’ calibre.

“Regarding the pressure, it is a case of adaptation for them. We are happy Mduduzi (Shabalala) is available.

“Wandile Duba and Samkelo Zwane are also in contention so it’s up to us, as the technical team, to decide who we think is ready to be in the starting XI or to come on and make an impact from the bench.”
