AmaZulu FC co-coach Arthur Zwane has broken his silence on how being redeployed from Kaizer Chiefs head coach to assistant affected his family.
“10111” was recently announced as Usuthu co-coach alongside Vusumuzi Vilakazi and have already started to work on their new project, succeeding Pablo Franco Martin who was shown the exit door after three defeats at the start of the season.
Zwane has experience in the Betway Premiership and was Chiefs coach back in 2022 before being replaced by Molefe Ntseki, managing 46 matches with 21 wins, 10 draws and 15 losses in his spell at Amakhosi.
That wasn’t good enough for Chiefs as he was redeployed back to his assistant role after the end of the 2022/23 season, and speaking with the media, Zwane explained how the whole situation affected his family, especially his kids.
“Obviously, after I was redeployed, I think I needed a break, but I was obviously working with the young ones leading all the divisions there trying to align things,” Zwane told the media.
“I think that kind of revived my energy which helped me big time. About what people are saying in football that’s part of the game I don’t take it personally, I understand it comes as a package everyone has a different opinion, and I respect that, and you must know people invest their emotions as well in the game.
“It is not because they disrespect you or they hate you. They will say whatever they want to say, as I said it comes as a package. The only people that get affected more, but if you don’t try to make them aware are your kids so it affected my kids, not me because I’ve been in the game for many years.
“I had to make them aware of the situation and also understand that this is where your father is, and they will have to understand. It is either some of the things you stay away from them, or you just support because you love the game, when your father wins you also celebrate so it comes with these with the results not forthcoming.”
