Legendary Mamelodi Sundowns attacker Themba Zwane says he can imagine becoming a coach and dedicate his time to grooming youngsters when his playing days are over.
‘Mshishi’ enjoyed another successful 2023/24 campaign, aiding Masandawana to a league and cup double as they clinched their seventh consecutive DStv Premiership title and became the first team on the continent to walk away with the inaugural African Football League trophy.
The 34-year-old looks set to have a last throw of the dice in top-flight football after extending his stay at Chloorkop for another season.
Since joining the Brazilians from Vardos FC over 13 years ago, the Tembisa-born maestro has been one of the most disciplined and influential players South Africa has produced, and is now looking to convey his skills to the younger generation when he finally hangs up his boots.
“Yes, because I would like to assist the youngsters, by sharing the experience I have gained,” Zwane said in a Q&A with PUMA when asked whether he’d be keen on becoming a coach.

“I have played under several great coaches at club and national level, and though they operate differently, the one thing they have in common is a work ethic.
“I would like to be remembered not only as a good player, but as a good teammate, a good leader and as a good example for the youngsters,” he added.
The Bafana Bafana international netted two goals and four assists in 41 games last season and equally became an integral part of Hugo Broos’ national team set-up.
