AmaZulu head coach Arthur Zwane says they have to show no respect to Mamelodi Sundowns and prove they are at home when the two sides meet this midweek.
The two teams, who are in the top five of the Betway Premiership standings, are set to face off on Tuesday at the Moses Mabhida Stadium at 19:30.
The last time they met, Usuthu suffered a 2–0 defeat in the first round at Lucas Moripe Stadium in Pretoria.
Zwane says they should have converted the three clear chances they created before the Brazilians scored twice to win that game.
Now playing at home, he says they must not show Sundowns any fear, because that is where they could lose the game.
“Like any other coach, when you’re playing for three points, the first thing that comes to mind how are going to apply ourselves tomorrow, are we gonna execute the plan?” said Zwane.
“Those are the worries, no major worries, it’s the things that are playing at the back of my mind.
“We played against Sundowns, lost 2-0 [in the first round], we had three clear chances in that game in Pretoria. We were close before they scored two goals.
“It’s just like how we suffered against [Orlando] Pirates, referee’s optional time, we’re chasing the game and we concede the second goal.
“We just have to take our chances, not half chances, I’m talking about [clear] chances.
“We’re at home now, we have to impose ourselves and show that we’re playing at home, show no respect cause the minute you show the big teams respect, they get on top of you.
“In those moments, they create goal-scoring opportunities to hurt you.”
