The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced Morocco as hosts of the 2024 Women’s Champions League continental finals next month.
The eight-team tournament will be played from 9-23 November 2024 in the North African country who also hosted it back in 2022 as well as the Women’s African Cup of Nations.
COSAFA is the most represented region this year with two teams in defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and newcomers University of Western Cape (UWC).
They are joined by hosts ASFAR, Aigles de la Medina from Senegal representing WAFU-A, EDO Queens of Nigeria as representatives of WAFU-B, Tutankhamun of Egypt representing UNAF, TP Mazembe of DR Congo as UNIFFAC representatives and CBE FC from Ethiopia representing CECAFA.
The draw is set to take place on 18 October at the Complex Mohammed VI, Sale Morocco, with the winner of this competition walking away with a staggering US$400 000 (over R7 million) and the runners-up US$250 000 (over R4 million).
