Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Miguel Cardoso has downplayed the fact that his side will face former Masandawana coach when they will travel to MC Alger in their next CAF Champions League game.
Sundowns kicked off their CAFCL campaign with a dominant 3-1 win over St. Eloi Lupopo, with Nuno Santos running the show with two goals and one assist for Marcelo Allende.
Cardoso’s mean climbed to the top of the log, level on points with Al Hilal but ahead on goal difference after the Sudanese giants beat Mokwena’s MC Alger 2-1 on Friday.
Next weekend, the Brazilians will face Mokwena’s side in Algeria, but Cardoso insisted they will prepare like for any other opponent.
“It’s just a detail,” he replied when asked about facing the former Sundowns coach.
“Next match, a Champions League match. We will analyse the team behaviour, prepare ourselves as we go there, make the best and hope the best is enough to win three points.
“Normal.”
Sundowns face Alger on Friday, 28 November at 21:00 before closing off the year with a Betway Premiership clash against Siwelele FC on 3 December.
