Chiefs & Bucs Not In Top 10 In Africa
Kaizer Chiefs do not appear in the top 10 ranked clubs in African football despite their heroics in the CAF Champions League this season – neither do Orlando Pirates.
Amakhosi finished as runners-up in this season’s CAF Champions League campaign, losing the final 3-0 to Al Ahly.
But despite their historic run to the final, the Glamour Boys only appear in 36th position among the strongest clubs in Africa, according to footballdatabase.com.
The website ranks all teams worldwide based on their performances in domestic and continental competitions, with back-to-back CAF Champions League winners Al Ahly currently the top ranked African side.
The ‘Club of the Century’ lead the African ranking ahead of bitter rivals Zamalek, with Mamelodi Sundowns in third place.
Meanwhile, Pirates sit in 19th position in the ranking, while Chiefs only appear in 36th.
