While domestic football will welcome fans back on the 8th and 9th of April, Mamelodi Sundowns will have supporters back this weekend when they host Al Merrikh in the CAF Champions League at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
The DStv Premiership champions have already qualified for the knockout stages of the CAFCL, but will wrap up the Group Stages against Sudan’s Al Merrikh.
Sundowns have confirmed to iDiski Times that they will be giving out tickets for free for the encounter, and they will be available at TicketPro, and via the club’s supporters club branches, and the club will shortly make an official announcement.
The club is encouraging families to come and support the team and hopes to see a sea of yellow at the FNB Stadium.
Government regulations state that fans must be vaccinated or show proof of a negative PCR test from the last 72 hours.
Fans are encouraged to have their ID and vaccination certificate on them at all times. This applies to all fans, except children who are exempt from the vaccination.
Downs already had 2 000 fans in the stands as they beat reigning CAF Champions League holders Al Ahly 1-0 at home but could now fill FNB Stadium up to a capacity of 50%, equalling to around 47 000 fans in the stands.
