Mamelodi Sundowns have started their CAF Champions League group with a comfortable 2-0 win against Mauritanian champions FC Nouadhibou.
Masandawana returned action for the first time since being crowned African Football League champions at same venue.
Sundowns opened the scoring via Lucas Ribeiro, who was at the end of a beautiful counter via Khuliso Mudau and Thapelo Morena after 22 minutes.
Just six minutes later, Downs made it 2-0 when Peter Shalulile headed home a Marcelo Allende corner.
The home side left little doubts about their intentions in this competition.
Sundowns had a great chance to make it three after 54 minutes, but Morena skied his shot after being set up by Shalulile.
Morena had the ball in the back of the net after 68 minutes but he was flagged offside. Just a minute later, the FC Nouadhibou goalkeeper Diop was sent off for a bad tackle, taking out substitute Gaston Sirino as last man.
Sirino himself stepped up to convert the following free-kick to make it 3-0 and put the cherry on top of a convincing win.
