Horoya Coach Lauds SA Teams Progress In CAF

Horoya AC head coach Lamine N’Diaye has been impressed with South African teams’ improvement in the CAF Champions League.

This comes after his side lost 1-0 to AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday, which was Usuthu’s first-ever win in the Africa’s elite tournament group stages.

N’Diaye, who won the competition with TP Mazembe, has admitted the South African teams are growing rapidly after the recent progress of Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs.

“South African teams are growing rapidly in this competition. The last time I was here, we lost to Kaizer Chiefs, and now we have lost to AmaZulu,” N’diaye said as per The Citizen.

“I think that is due to the world-class resources that they have here. I am talking about the training facilities, equipment and such things. They are growing every day in this competition.

“Mamelodi Sundowns have already won it, Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have also reached the final of this competition before [Pirates won it in 1995].

“This season South Africa has two teams in the group stages, which is also an indication of their growth in this competition.”
