Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye and former Mamelodi Sundowns star Benedict ‘Tso’ Vilakazi have have predicted opposing outcomes for the CAF Champions League final second leg in Cairo.
Pyramids host Mamelodi Sundowns at the 30 June Stadium in Cairo on Sunday in the deciding leg of this seasons’ Champions League final with the score-line at 1-1 from the first leg in Pretoria last week.
The 2016 African champions led 1-0 for the majority of the first leg only to concede at the death and now will need to win the encounter or need a high-scoring draw to lift the trophy again, while a goalless draw could be enough for the Egyptian side.
Khanye says because Sundowns didn’t do the job at home their hosts won’t be as kind and simply predicted that Fiston Mayele will deliver the final punch.
“My prediction, I see the game ending 0-0 or 2-1,” said Khanye on iDiski TV.
“Sundowns will score probably and Mayele is going to score. He is going to score the winning goal. It’s going to be 2-1 or 0-0 for me.”
Meanwhile, his iDiski TV counterpart Vilakazi believes his former side will get the job done in Cairo.
“As Sporo Mangena once said I put my head on the block, Sundowns 2-1 Pyramids,” said Tso on iDiski TV.
“Whether coach Miguel Cardoso likes it or not he will play the way I want, attacking football. Sundowns will win this game 2-1.
“They will win another star. Come Sunday evening, dark or blue raining or storming I’m saying right now that Sundowns 2-1 Pyramids.
“We cannot lose because we are singing a good song in South Africa right now. Our U17s are going to the World Cup, our U20s are going to the World Cup, Sundowns are going to play in the Club world Cup, Banyana Banyana and Bafana Bafana are going to AFCON.
“We are singing a very good song and it cannot be stopped by Sundowns.”
