Al Ahly head coach Marcelo Koller has discussed Orlando Pirates‘ style of play and their chances to progress to the CAF Champions League knockout stages.
The Buccaneers held the African record champions to a goalless draw in a highly tactical battle at a sold-out Orlando Stadium.
Both Al Ahly and Pirates have started the group stages with a win and a draw in what seems to be a very tight group with CR Belouizdad following behind them with three points.
After the match, Koller praised Jose Riveiro’s side and says he believes they have a good chance of making it to the knockout stages.
“We were fighting for the three points [because] the first two in the group will progress,” he told journalists.

“They are a strong team with good technical and fast players and I’d say they had a good game.
“The other games will also be tight but I believe they can make the knockout stages.”
Pirates face Stade d’Abidjan twice, while Al Ahly and Belouizdad battle each other back-to-back as well, before the Buccaneers host the Algerian giants and finish their group stages with a trip to Cairo.
