Maela Maintains Confidence Ahead Of Crunch Alger Clash

Orlando Pirates captain Innocent Maela is confident of their chances to progress to the CAF Champions League semi-finals when they take on MC Alger in the second leg.

The Buccaneers go into Wednesday night’s crunch clash on the back of a huge 1-0 advantage they have courtesy of a solitary Mohau Nkota strike in the first leg in Algiers last week.

The Buccaneers take on Alger at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday evening and Maela affirmed how their win in North Africa gave them a huge chance of progression.

“I think from the players’ side, we placed ourselves in a position where we giving ourselves a chance to progress,” he told the media.

“I think we deserve it. I think the team is heading in the right direction.

“But like the coach has just said, exciting moments for us. Difficult challenge ahead.

“Difficult game but we’re confident that we’ll go there and do well.”

The match starts at 18:00.
