Bafana Bafana winger Elias Mokwana believes that Miguel Cardoso’s presence at Mamelodi Sundowns could be an advantage for Esperance Sportive de Tunis in the upcoming CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
Cardoso was in charge when the Blood and Gold knocked Rulani Mokwena’s side out of the competition last season but lost the final to Al Ahly. He was released in October last year following some inconsistent results and what has been labelled intense scrutiny by the media.

The coach then moved to Chloorkop the following December where has so far enjoyed a good spell that also saw him pick up the Betway Premiership Coach of the month for February.
Speaking to iDiski Times senior writer Matshelane Mamabolo in edition 197 of the newspaper, Mokwana said that not only Cardoso has inside info on his former side, also the Tunisian giants know the ideas of their ex-coach.
“Ja, I guess they have an advantage there, but also it is for us because we know how he [Cardoso] structures his play,” Mokwana told iDiski Times.
The former Sekhukhune United man is also expecting a good match calling it the final before the final.
“It’s going to be a good match,” added Mokwana.
“I think it is the two greatest teams coming up against each other. I think both teams have great players. It is the final before the final.
“Whoever wants it the most will be the one who wins it.”
