Esperance de Tunis coach Laurentiu Reghecampf had nothing but plaudits for his side and made special mention of Elias Mokwana in their 2-0 win over Pyramids FC to move top of Group D in the CAF Champions League.
The Tunisian side continued their fine form as they consolidated top spot with seven points after Youcef Belaili scored the opener with a sublime beauty before Mokwana rounded off the scoring.
This was the Bafana Bafana international’s second tournament goal as his side remain unbeaten with Reghecampf applauding his scorers on the day and importantly the third clean sheet saying it will be beneficial for his charges in the next round.
“It’s very positive that we didn’t receive any goals in all the three games,” said Reghecampf after the game.
“We made a great step for the next round and I’m happy about that. That’s why all my regards go to my players, to my team they played very well. They scored the goals, and we created two, three more big chances to score but we didn’t score.
“I’m happy for everyone and I’m happy for Belaili because today he scored a very nice goal, also Mokwana again. I hope for Rodrigues to score in the next game because he is working very much for the team.
