Mamelodi Sundowns striker Iqraam Rayners says it’s important to focus on the next game after the loss to Kaizer Chiefs this past weekend.
Chiefs came from a goal down to defeat Rayners’ side 2-1 in the semi-final of the Nedbank Cup and essentially knock Sundowns out of the competition, recording Amakhosi’s only win in four meetings between the clubs this season.
Sundowns are now shifting their focus to the CAF Champions League semi-final against Al Ahly with the first leg of the tie on Saturday and Rayners insisted every game is new and met with same energy.
“Every match the motivation is still the same,” said the former Stellenbosch man.
“The mood is still good in camp and for us as a team we need to focus on one game at a time, especially what happened the past weekend.
“There’s always an opportunity to play another cup, another league match. Whatever happens, happens things we cannot control but we will keep on pushing until the end.”
