Parker – What Having Baxter On Bench Means To Chiefs
Kaizer Chiefs captain Bernard Parker has revealed what it means for the players to finally have Stuart Baxter on the bench for Saturday’s CAF Champions League final against Al Ahly.
Baxter himself confirmed that he has received his work permit in time to be on the sidelines against Pitso Mosimane’s side tomorrow.
Parker insisted having Baxter on the bench will be a boost for the squad after he had watched the semi-finals against Wydad Casablanca from the stands with Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard leading the charges.
“With the coach being on the bench now, it’s an extra upliftment in terms of motivation for us as well,” Parker told reporters.
“Now having the coach close to us, nearer to us with what we’re doing it’s a plus for us.
“The young players as well, they do they do ask us questions from the senior guys, myself, Khune and Katsande. Because of the experience that we have.
“I’m sure today, everyone is clear on their roles and it is what the coach wants for everybody to be clear on your role. So it’s just for us to go on and execute.”
Parker has featured 12 times in the CAF Champions League for Chiefs this season, scoring the important goal in their 1-0 home victory over Wydad during the group stages.
