Pirates Give Injury Update, Confirm Two Major Blows

Orlando Pirates have given an injury update ahead of their CAF Champions league quarter-final first leg at MC Alger, confirming that Patrick Maswanganyi will miss the clash, while Olisa Ndah also suffered an injury set-back.

Maswanganyi had to pull out of the recent Bafana Bafana squad after suffering an injury ahead of their Betway Premiership win over Mamelodi Sundowns.

Many had hoped he would recover during the international break, but Pirates confirmed he did not travel to Algeria and is still suffering from a quad strain.

“Orlando Pirates will be without talisman Patrick Maswanganyi when the Buccaneers face MC Alger in an all-important TotalEnergies CAF Champions League quarter-final encounter on Tuesday,” the club stated.

“The 26-year-old who has been sidelined due to injury, did not make it to the traveling squad as he continues to receive treatment for a quad strain injury.”

Pirates also provided further updates on their other sidelines players:
