Orlando Pirates defeated Lioli 4-0 in the second leg of the CAF Champions League first preliminary round, comfortably securing their spot in the second preliminary round with a 7-0 victory on aggregate.
Tshepang Moremi and Yanela Mbuthuma, who both joined the Buccaneers ahead of the start of this season, scored braces in the match.
Ouaddou made seven changes to the previous match’s starting eleven, bringing in Nkosikhona Ndaba, Nkosinathi Sibisi, Oswin Appollis, Tshepang Moremi, Evidence Makgopa, Cemran Dansin, and Mbule in place of Deon Hotto, Mbekezeli Mbokazi, Thabiso Lebitso, Relebohile Mofokeng, Tshegofatso Mabasa, Thalente Mbatha, and Patrick Maswanganyi.
As anticipated, the hosts dominated the opening exchanges, immediately taking control of the game in front of their home crowd.
However, the game offered a few clear chances; with the Buccaneers holding a commanding 3-0 advantage from the first leg, they seemed content to control the tempo.
Appollis squandered a magnificent opportunity in the 35th minute, failing to convert from close range following a sharp cut-back cross from Kamohelo Sebelebele.
Just before halftime, in the additional minutes of the first half, Pirates finally took the lead with Moremi converting a goal directly from a free-kick spot.
Four minutes into the second half, Moremi found the back of the net once more, completing his brace and doubling the advantage for the hosts.
The Sea Robbers maintained control of the match, pushing up the pitch to create more goal-scoring opportunities.
Substitute Mbuthuma came off the bench to score two quick goals, wrapping up the match and opening his scoring account in Black and White colours.
The visitors made minimal effort to mount a comeback and were subsequently eliminated from the Champions League.
