Pitso Makes Huge Zwane Admission

After beating Kaizer Chiefs to the CAF Champions League title, Pitso Mosimane has insisted he would’ve let Arthur Zwane guide the Glamour Boys in the final.

Mosimane claimed his third CAF Champions League trophy after winning it with Mamelodi Sundowns in 2016 and now back-to-back with Al Ahly.

The South African coach heaped praise on former Chiefs coach Gavin Hunt, who had been sacked before the semi-finals against Wydad Casablanca, as well as Zwane, who had been in charge for the last four games.

“For me is to give respect to coach Gavin Hunt because he doesn’t get credit for bringing the team to the semi-finals,” he told reporters.

“And we must give credit to coach Arthur Zwane with his assistant Sheppy (Dillon Sheppard) for bringing the team to the final.

“And also credit to Stuart because I know he’s been behind the scenes and helping them, we have to have respect that

“But as a local boy, as a township boy I’m very happy for Arthur Zwane. For me, if it was my way I think he would’ve got the gong again and finished what he started.

“But let’s not forget Hunty, Hunty has done well. And the way they played, suited them in the Champions League final.”

Both Mosimane and Zwane are products of Jomo Cosmos, having started their playing career at the Ezenkosi.
