Pitso Names Al Ahly Squad For CAFCL Final

Pitso Mosimane has named his squad for the CAF Champions League final and received a boost by multiple players returning.

The South African tactician is on the brink of writing history, as he could become the first ever manager to lift the CAFCL trophy in three successive seasons.

It would be Mosimane’s four CAFCL title overall and Al Ahly’s 11th trophy in the competition overall.

Mosimane and his squad received a boost after Amr El-Sulya, Aliou Dieng and Hamdy Fathi all returned to full fitness, while centre-back Badr Benoun returned to the squad for a first time since December.

Al Ahly will take on Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club at their own home ground at the Stade Mohamed V Stadium, which will be a massive advantage for the two-time CAF Champions League winners.

Mosimane will hope that Percy Tau will be able to repeat his performances from the semi-finals over ES Setif, when the South African winger was involved in all six of Al Ahly’s goals, scoring twice and setting up four more over the two legs.
