ES Setif have a mountain to claim when they host Al Ahly in the 2nd leg CAF Champions League semi-final this evening – here is how the two teams line up.
Setif come into the clash in Algiers trailing the reigning champions 4-0 after the thumping they received in Cairo seven days ago.
Pitso Mosimane will be aiming to see out the game for his fourth final as a coach and maintain their pursuit for a third consecutive title since his arrival at the Red Devils.
Setif bounced back in mid-week with a 7-0 win over Relizane in the league to boost their morale and have looked a more attack-minded side under their new head coach Darko Novic.
He admits they aren’t giving up for the fight to meet Wydad Athletic Club in the final just yet: “In the first leg, we made individual mistakes which cost us dearly, in all areas of the game.
“My players were under immense pressure against a big Al-Ahly team. We refuse to give up, we must win at home at all costs, start strong to get back up quickly.”
Setif will be without their inspirational midfielder Amir Karaoui who received a straight red for a shocking challenge on Hussein El-Shahat in the first leg, while Ahly lost Luis Miquissone in the build-up to the game.
