Orlando Pirates head coach Jose Riveiro reckons that his side’s goalless draw with Pyramids FC in the CAF Champions League semi-finals on Saturday was a good game which should have produced goals.
Pirates who are the remaining unbeaten side in the competition couldn’t score in their backyard while the opposition had two goals disallowed by Video Assistant Referee (VAR) in the 1st leg of the tie, leaving the game to be decided in Egypt.

Riveiro said the game should have had goals however the result in Orlando makes for an interesting second leg.
“I think it was a really good game, well played from both sides, with two different approaches,” said Riveiro.
“But both of them we think were attractive for the spectators, again without pauses, without any team trying to play time or temporize or lose a good rhythm decent rhythm. I think more control for us in the beginning of both periods, less control in the end of both periods as well.
“Good opportunities for both teams and like I said maybe two times after the game in the interviews, not a 0-0 game. A game that should have finished with goals.
“So, it’s 0-0 and everything is open for the second leg, and anticipating, for sure, a really good game the next Friday.”
