Sundowns’ CAFCL Final Opponents Confirmed

Mamelodi Sundowns will face Moroccan giants AS FAR in the CAF Champions League final.

Sundowns booked their ticket earlier on Saturday, beating four-time CAFCL champions Esperance Sportive de Tunis 1-0 on the day and 2-0 on aggregate.

Brayan Leon again scored the only goal of the match to see Sundowns book back-to-back finals.

In the evening, AS FAR had to face RS Berkane in an all-Moroccan derby, and did enough to defend their 2-0 first-leg lead.

The match at the Stade Municipal de Berkane ended 1-0 for the home side, sending AS FAR to the final after a 2-1 aggregate victory.

The 2025/26 CAFCL final be played on 15 May and 24 May, with Sundowns playing the first leg at home.

Both AS FAR and Sundowns have won the Champions League once so far, with the Moroccan side triumphing in 1985, beating AS Bilima 6-2 on aggregate, while Sundowns won their’s in 2016 after defeating Zamalek 3-1.
