Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates have learned which teams they will face in the preliminary rounds of the CAF Champions League.
Masandawana qualified as Betway Premiership winners, while Pirates booked their ticket as runners-up.
After both reached the semi-finals last season, with Sundowns beaten by Pyramids in the final and the Buccaneers by the same team in the semis, the two Premier Soccer League sides are among the favourites again this season.
However, their campaign kicks off in the preliminary rounds, with Sundowns facing winner between Remo Stars (Nigeria) and US Zilimadjou (Comoros) in the second preliminary round after being exempted from the first round.
Meanwhile, Pirates will kick off their campaign in the first preliminary round where they will face Lioli FC (Lesotho). Should they advance; they’ll face the winner between DRC rep and El Merreikh.
The first preliminary round will take place on 19-21 and 26-28 September, while the second preliminary round will be played on 17-19 and 24-26 October.
