Sundowns Ready For CAFWCL Final
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Jerry Tshabalala says they are ready for today’s CAF Women’s Champions League final against Ghana’s Hasaacas Ladies in Cairo.
Sundowns and Hasaacas meet to decide the inaugural winner of the competition, with kick off scheduled for 7:00 pm South African time and the match being shown on Supersport 9.
Tshabalala says it is a big game and they have prepared well for the match.
“It’s a big game, we wanted to be here,” Tshabalala told iDiski Times.
“Finally, we’re here, we prepared quite well, we playing against a stronger opponent, a team that’s been scoring a lot of goals.
“Playing against a team that has has not been conceding, it’s going to be a bit of a tough game for both teams.
“But like I said, we’ve prepared well, we saw their strength, and we saw their weaknesses, we just need to capitalize on their weaknesses, and eventually we will come through.”
Tshabalala says they are ready for all possible situations for the game, even if it goes to extra-time, or penalties, like it did in Sundowns semi-final victory.
“We are prepared, we are ready for for another 120 minutes if it goes there,” he continued.
“But in our mind, we don’t want to go there because you’ve already, we’ve already played another 120, but if it pushes us there I’m happy with the work that has been done by the technical team.
“If you have a team that plays 120 minutes, with the players without cramping, it tells a story to say our physios, conditioning coaches, and the doctors are doing a great job. So basically, we are ready for them.”
