Tau Hits Special Milestone In CAFCL First Leg

Bafana Bafana winger Percy Tau reached 100 games for Al Ahly as they held TP Mazembe to a goalless draw in their CAF Champions League semi-final first leg.

The South Africa started the match on the bench, but was brought into action at half-time, with Al Ahly largely under massive pressure in the first interval.

It was Tau’s 100th appearances since joining the Club of the Century in August 2021 under Pitso Mosimane.

He has scored 24 goals and set up 13 more but wasn’t able to add his name to the scoresheet in Lubumbashi on Saturday afternoon.

Al Ahly, though, will be happy to have come away with a 0-0, as TP Mazembe missed several big chances in the clash.

Both teams will meet again on Friday in Cairo, when a place in this year’s CAF Champions League final is up for grabs.
