Tshabalala – The Biggest Game Of Our Lives
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Jerry Tshabalala says their CAF Women’s Champions League game to day against Rivers Angels is the ‘biggest game of their lives’.
After a victory in their opening game, Tshabalala’s team could book a spot in the semi-finals if they beat their Nigerian opposition in Egypt this evening.
But Tshabalala warns that Angels, who lost their opening match, will be desperate to turn things around, so they need to be cautious.
However Tshabalala is quietly optimistic, and says his team knows what is expected from them.
“A very, very tough game for us, up against Rivers Angels,” Tshabalala told iDiski Times.
“We’re ready, we’re ready, we’ve been preparing for them. We’ve seen them strength wise, they’re very strong, they’re big.
“I believe we are in for a big game, the biggest game of our lives. A game that will put us through to the semis with a win. It will definitely put us through to the semis, but also taking into consideration Rivers Angels started on a bad note, so possibly they want to turn around the corner, because they need all the three points.
“So we got to be cautious how we approach this game. I believe they’re going to come out guns blazing because they definitely need that three points.
“So the game, it’s gonna be a tough one. We just need to deny them possession, frustrate them more by denying them possession, and try to tire them and see if see if that can work on our advantage.
“But I believe in the girls, I’ve seen the mood the camp. The girls are very excited, the girls are very happy and looking forward to this game. You know, if you want to be the champion of Africa, you got to play the best teams in Africa.
“So here is a test for us. Let us go there and see what can we do. So, it’s a big game, the biggest game we’ve ever played in our lives.”
