Tshabalala – We Want Maximum Points

Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Jerry Tshabalala says maximum points are more important than performance as they start the CAF Women’s Champions League finals in Egypt against Kenya’s Vihiga Queens on Saturday.

Sundowns are the Southern African representatives at the CAFWCL, which got underway on Friday.

Tshabalala says if they want to make the semi-finals, they need to get off to a winning start, and that is their immediate target.

“Look, this is a tournament, we not looking for good performance, but we want maximum points,” he said ahead of Saturday’s game.

“For us our first two games are very crucial. The first two games will determine if we go through to the next round, which is the semis, we get ourselves a good start which is the three points, we’ll be happy to fight for another three points against a team from Nigeria.

“I believe it’s going to be a bit of a challenge for us to play against Vihiga Queens, then go again to play the Nigerian team, but we are ready for them.

“We want you want to see ourselves in the semis, And then from the semis, we will take it from there.”
