iDiski TV analysts Benedict Vilakazi and Junior Khanye have reacted to Mamelodi Sundowns striker Brayan Leon’s performance in the 1st leg of the Champions League final against ASFAR on Sunday.

Sundowns who are competing in their second final of the tournament in as many seasons, won the first leg encounter 1-0 thanks to an Aubrey Modiba free-kick and have a slight advantage heading into the decider.

Miguel Cardoso’s charges could have scored more goals with the forward among those missing chances at Loftus Versfeld Stadium. His first attempt was saved by ASFAR goalkeeper Reda Tagnaouti and the second one going wide.

‘Tso’ said Sunday wasn’t Leon’s day to score and now the striker owes his side goals in the second leg in Rabat this coming weekend.

“I think it’s one of those games where you can play good, but you fail to score,” said Tso on iDiski TV.

“He made good runs found himself in good positions, but he couldn’t convert and I hope maybe he’s saving these two for next week.

“He definitely owes them an away goal he needs to make sure he buries such chances next week because as a top striker everyone relies on him. And if he misses, you leave us with no hope to say who’s going to come in and do it for us. But he did very well.”

Meanwhile Khanye agrees with Tso that Leon had a good game however should have made different choices with his final touches.

“Leon is a top striker for me, one of the best he knows football and he understands his teammates,” said Khanye.

“He also understands his primary job, but I expected more from him especially that ball he shot wide and missed the target.

“I thought he’d hit it with the outside of his foot or his weaker foot but he’s a top striker. He’ll learn because playing in the final of the CAF Champions League is not easy.”
