Wydad Promise Players R32k Bonus For Chiefs
Wydad Casablanca’s president Said Naciri has reportedly promised each of his players a R32 000 bonus if they would knock Kaizer Chiefs out of the CAF Champions League.
The Moroccan side need to overcome a 1-0 first-leg defeat when they face Amakhosi at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
According to Moroccan publication, MaghribFoot, Wydad’s president has incentivised his stars by rising the bonus from 60 000 dirhams (R96 000) to 80 000 (R128 000).
The players would earn extra 20 000 dirhams (R32 000), if they would be able to overturn their 1-0 first-leg defeat to advance to the final.
It means that Naciri would pay the squad around 400 000 dirham (R641 000) overall, should his side reach their fifth CAFCL final.
Chiefs are yet to concede at home in the CAF Champions League this season, winning their last three games, including the group stage fixture against Wydad.
Wydad, meanwhile, have now won just one of their last six CAFCL games against South African opposition and failed to score in five of those with the only exception being their 4-0 victory in their group stage home fixture against the Glamour Boys.
The game will kick off at 18:00 at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.
