Young Africans SC and Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed their starting line-ups for the CAF Champions League quarter-final first leg at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium this evening.
Yanga haven’t lost an official home game since May 2023 when they lost to Algerian side USM Alger by 2-1.
The side led by former Sundowns coach Miguel Ángel Gamondi will play their first CAFCL quarter-final encounter is club’s history. Their road to reach this stage came after finishing second behind Al Ahly in Group D with eight points.
This is Sundowns’ sixth successove quarter-final of CAFCL since 2017, as Rulani Mokwena and his men target their second star.
Masandawana topped their group with 13 points and only lost to five-time CAF Champions League champions TP Mazembe, conceding just one goal.
This is the first time these two side are facing each other. As for Yanga it’s not the first that they face South African side as they eliminated Marumo Gallants out of CAFCC last season.
