Arthur Zwane has stated that Kaizer Chiefs want to win the CAF Champions League for South Africa but also the club’s chairman Kaizer Motaung, who wants the famous star on the Amakhosi shirt.
Zwane and Dillon Sheppard will once again be in charge of the second leg against Wydad Casablanca at the FNB Stadium on Saturday, while Stuart Baxter will be watching from the stands.
The interim coaches still have a 100% record in their three games since taking over from Gavin Hunt and Zwane seems confident his side can not just reach the final but also win Amakhosi’s first ever CAFCL title.
“We will make sure we are going to the final to bring it home, cause that is the ambition that we have,” he told reporters.
“Everyone, including the players, wants to win it for South Africa, for Amakhosi and for the chairman, for everyone who’s behind the team.
“Because we know how much he wants the star, just to add onto that jersey. So we’re gonna do it for him and for ourselves.
“We are very delighted to be part of Kaizer Chiefs, because not many players and coaches have the opportunity to experience this.”
The Glamour Boys will host Wydad at the FNB Stadium on saturday, with the game scheduled to kick off at 18:00, SA time.
