The quarter-finals for the 2025/26 CAF Confederations Cup were drawn on Tuesday afternoon.
Unfortunately, both South African representatives, Kaizer Chiefs and Stellenbosch FC were knocked out in the group stages, with Amakhosi dropping to third in Group D on the final match day after losing to Zamalek, while Stellies finished fourth in Group C.
With no South African representation left in the competition, Premier Soccer League fans might now follow the journey of former TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic, whose CR Belouizdad topped Group C with 15 points.
The Algerian giants scored the most goals in the competition so far (15) and were only one of two teams, alongside Wydad Athletic Club, to collect five wins in the group stages.
Belouizdad, Wydad, USM Alger and Zamalek qualified as group winners, Al Masry, Otoho d’Oho, Maniema and Olympique de Safi were the runners up.
And Ramovic’s Belouizdad have been drawn against Al Masry, who qualified as second from Chiefs’ group.
