Davids’ Praises Technical Team After Simba History

Simba SC head coach Fadlu Davids praised his technical after advancing to the semi-finals of CAF Confederation Cup following a two-goal comeback.

Davids’ Simba overturned a first leg 2-0 defeat against Egyptian side Al Masry to make it 2-2 on aggregate after two goals in the first half from Elie Mpanzu and Steven Mukwala, before beating them on penalties.

The South African coach became the first coach to led Simba to the semis of a CAF inter-club competition after the Tanzanian giants lost in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup quarter-finals several times.

Davids praised his technical team for the details they gave to the players, after goalkeeper coach Wayne Sandilands was spotted giving some tips to goalkeeper Moussa Camara before the penalties and the 26-year-old saved two spot-kicks to send Simba into the semis.

“Huge credit to my technical team, everybody is always talking about the players, sometimes they talk about the coach but it’s a technical team behind the scenes,” Davids told the media.

“The details in the analysis, the details to give Camara the information which penalty shot is going which way, the details in relation to doing the analysis to their goalkeeper for the penalties, the details of the first half how we dominated…

“Of course the second half was very difficult because the field was very wet and we couldn’t really play our football, we couldn’t pass from the one line to the next so it made a little bit difficult of course you’re a little bit scared to lose the ball and they hit you on the counter because as you make the pass the ball stops.

“Huge congratulations to my players and most of all to my technical team.”
